Companions & Animals For Reform & Equity (CARE)
TASK
CARE aimed to launch its first conference, The Gathering, in Philadelphia, focusing on inclusivity and community engagement. They sought a BIPOC-led agency to manage a three-day event featuring a welcome happy hour, comprehensive programming, and a community fair with free produce and pet food markets.
Magic Makers was chosen to produce the event. We skillfully handled logistics for 150 attendees in the inaugural year, coordinating all aspects of the event from the happy hour to the community fair, ensuring each component aligned with CARE's mission of community support and inclusivity.
IMPACT
The successful execution of The Gathering by Magic Makers led to its annual recurrence, now entering its third year. Attendance has doubled to 300, demonstrating the event's growing influence and Magic Makers' capability to scale their event management expertise to accommodate increased participation and expanding event features.
Frankford CDC| Pause Park Activations
Task
Frankford Community Development Corporation inaugurated the Frankford Pause Park, aiming to activate the space with free, engaging summer programming. They sought a dynamic company to create and manage diverse community events, enhancing local engagement and park usage.
Solution
Magic Makers was selected to design and execute a vibrant series of weekly events, including music showcases, movie nights, salsa lessons, and paint nights. They also organized a resource fair and the park's annual Fall Festival, ensuring a broad range of activities to attract diverse community participation.
Impact
Over three years of continuous collaboration with Frankford CDC, Magic Makers has significantly increased community involvement and park visibility. Their efforts have led to television coverage and generated over 500,000 impressions on social media, highlighting the park's role as a community hub and boosting local interaction.
Love Park | Multicultural Marketplace
Task
Post-pandemic, Love Park sought to revitalize community engagement and support local small businesses through eight weeks of summer programming. They needed an agency to manage diverse events that would attract and involve various community segments.
Solution
Magic Makers won the RFP and organized a Multicultural marketplace, securing sponsorships from the African American Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. They enhanced the event with entertainment showcases, yoga sessions, and a special Kids Day Party featuring various activities.
Impact
The programming not only revitalized community engagement but also significantly increased visibility for local businesses. Due to the success, which included media coverage and promotional radio buys, Magic Makers' contract was extended to produce the marketplace for two additional consecutive seasons.
